Cleve Taylor, President
Cleve Taylor founded the Malcolm Patrick Corporation in 2004 with his partner Ted Civetta Jr. to bring honest minority participation to the construction industry. This was done through detail cost estimating, quality planning, and installation at a reasonable profit. Malcolm Patrick has completed its 12th year of profitable operation without a time loss injury. Since MPC’s conception all projects have been successfully completed and are fully referenceable. Under Cleve’s leadership, bonding capacity has been expanded to $ 6 million, computerized filings systems have been implemented for all construction projects and certified financial statements are available for all clients.
Prior to starting Malcolm Patrick, Cleve served as Director of Accounting for the National Headquarters of the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation, followed by a 21 year career with the NYC Fire Department. As one of NYC’s Bravest, Cleve was responsible for the control and extinguishment of fires, code and laws enforcement and is certified in Collapse, Hazardous Material and Bioterrorism Training.
His most recent accomplishment included being elected as Corporate Treasurer and re-elected as President of the Riverbay Corporation (a/k/a Co-op City), where he led the Corporation out of financial distress by implementing cost and revenue strategies that added $ 27 million to its free operating cash position.
Cleve Taylor holds a B.B.A. in Finance from Iona College and holds OSHA and Concrete Safety Manger certifications.
Fidel Gonzalez, Vice President
Fidel joined Malcolm Patrick Corp. in 2014. With his analytical, organizational and engineering skills, he has contributed to smoother and more efficient execution of field projects resulting in timely and under budget project completion.
Fidel has been instrumental in estimating project quantities and in the measurement of materials and labor cost that has contributed to MPC's success. Additional technical responsibilities include coordinating design and build activities between the owners' engineer and our staff, preparation of CAD drawings, as-builts, project scheduling, and payment process through the use of systems such as Microsoft Project, Oracle Textura Payment Management Software and Procore.
Fidel holds his Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from The City College of New York (2017). He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering (ISPJAE, 2010. Havana, Cuba) and a CAD Certificate (Westchester Community College, 2014. Valhalla, NY).
Vincent Burke, Treasurer
Vincent Burke joined Malcolm Patrick in 2013. Prior to joining Malcolm Patrick Corporation Vincent was employed by Legends Hospitality and supervised sales operations at Yankee Stadium.
In 2014, Vincent was named Corporate Treasurer of Malcolm Patrick. As Treasurer Vincent is responsible for business and financial oversight, cash flow, planning, and budgeting. Vincent holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Penn State University (2011), and his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Finance from Iona College (2014).
Vincent’s management and leadership skills have translated well both in the office and in the field. In Vincent’s role as project manager his responsibilities include all phases of construction from inception to completion, including purchasing, subcontract negotiation, scheduling, safety, and management of construction activities and personnel. Vincent has worked on many successful projects for various governmental agencies including LIRR, NYC Transit , Metro North, DOT, Port Authority, & Bridges and Tunnels.
Petrit Spahiu, Estimating Engineer and Senior Project Manager
Petrit Spahiu is an invaluable member of our team. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience acquired over his 35 year career in the construction industry. Petrit has estimated and managed many successful projects involving excavation, support of excavation, concrete, masonry and carpentry for private, commercial and public works agencies such as the Metropolitan Transit Authority.
Petrit Spahiu graduated from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Natural Science, Republic of Albania with his Bachelor Degree in Technology Engineering in 1979 and his Masters Degree in 1983. In 1995 Petrit Spahiu acquired his PhD in engineering.
Jonathan Engelhardt, Project Manager
Jonathan Engelhardt joined Malcolm Patrick in early 2018. Jonathan has worked several years in the offshore oil & gas industry conducting drilling operations, and in the geotechnical construction industry supervising the construction of drilled foundation piles and driven pile shoring walls. His role as a project manager with Malcolm Patrick brings his operational and engineering expertise to bear from project inception to closeout.
Jonathan has successfully completed projects for SpaceX, Downtown Disney, Chevron, and Freeport MacMoran, as well as government agencies including The US Navy, NYC Transit, and NYC Economic Development Corp. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Penn State (2014) and is currently a Master's Degree Student in Construction Management at Arizona State University. In addition to his education, he carries a variety of safety and operational certifications for multiple industries, including OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, HUET, TWIC, and confined space rescue.
